So you've been waiting patiently to find out who took the big First
photos prize, but we're gonna make you wait just a while longer.
However, if you recall the contest rules, our judges also picked
winners based on individual criteria. These category winners all
receive a $500 prize pack from Vans, and Dylan Doubt from Color Magazine
was so stoked on the quality of the photos that he made space in the mag for all
the category winners, along with the overall winner. We'll be
announcing category winners each day this week, and the overall winner
on Monday, December 7th.
Our third winner is Stephen Hare, taking the "Subject Matter" category. Read on for a brief interview with Stephen.

Andrew Reynolds, frontside flip.
How did you react when you found out that you won?
Pretty
excited.
Tell us about the winning shot: who is it and what went
down when you shot the photo?
Andrew
Reynolds - Frontside Flip at the Black Ice on Go Skateboard Day. It was a
pretty amazing day and watching him put that down was unbelievable.
How long have you been shooting photos for? What do you
love about it?
I graduated
from Humber College in 2005 and have been shooting ever since.
Are you hoping to build on this now, and shoot more
skateboarding for sites and magazines?
Definitely
want to build on this and keep shooting skating and snowboarding and just
keeping progressing.
Any last words?
Shoot
everything.
And don't forget our other winners:
Impact: Peter Stankiewicz
Timing: Eric Lemay
