So you've been waiting patiently to find out who took the big First photos prize, but we're gonna make you wait just a while longer. However, if you recall the contest rules, our judges also picked winners based on individual criteria. These category winners all receive a $500 prize pack from Vans, and Dylan Doubt from Color Magazine was so stoked on the quality of the photos that he made space for all the category winners, along with the overall winner. We'll be announcing category winners each day this week, and the overall winner on Monday, December 7th.
Our first winner is Peter Stankiewicz, taking the "Impact" category. Read on for a brief interview with Peter.

Chris Marleau, backside smith, Toronto.
How did you react when you found out that you won?
I was pretty psyched when I found out - I bought a bag of Miss Vickies Jalapeno chips.
Tell us about the winning shot: who is it and what went down when you shot the photo?
It's Chris Marleau, but he's a dick. He back smithed that ledge on Peter street. Weird.
How long have you been shooting photos for? What do you love about it?
I've been shooting for 5 years. I love the craftmanship in creating a photo I like.
Are you hoping to build on this now, and shoot more skateboarding for sites and magazines?
Yeah, it would be amazing to make this a legitimate career.
Any last words?
