Shreducation Hits Snowpark, NZ
Posted On Aug 16 2011, 10:04 PM by Shreducation

This season Shreducation added another corporate partner: Snowpark, NZ. Snowpark has had a lot of changes happen to it the past few seasons and this season it is incredible! The team is staying in the luxury apartments right on the hill, and with a whole new Piston Bully cat force, the new famous 22' global cutter (best shape for a pipe in the world) and tons of new features, they can't be anything but stoked.

The digs.

A tub after shredding.

There is an interesting story about Snowpark and it's growing pains over the last decade, a story about a unique family and their commitment to snowboarding. Throughout this trip we will be doing some pieces and features on a behin- the-scenes look at freestyle's ultimate summer paradise snow playground. But for now, here are a few pics and the day one edit to wet your pallet.

The park...well, some of it.

We're happy to be down here with not only the two original Shreducation athletes, Zach Stone and Harrison Gray, but also a new crop of 13-16 year olds who have never journeyed to this side of the sport or the earth. After eight years of turning young snowboarders into pro snowboarders or any level that they desire, new crops of kids every year roll into the the program and the older ones graduate out into the real world. It's great to see the oldest students now pro and getting paid, riding on a trip and interacting with the new students. It's a trip to see how riders like Zach and Harry now help out with new riders at a level of where they once were.

Snowed in.

That is progression, that is fun, that is snowboarding...that is Shreducation.

Enjoy.
