And even better news for skateboarding. At least in Vancouver, that is.
Last Wednesday one of Vancouver’s two big papers, [though owned by the same company, fancy that] The Province, did a story about Sarah Blyth, Vision Vancouver’s Candidate for Parks board for this Saturday's municipal election. Vancouver skateboarders couldn’t have a better candidate to get into office at the parks board.

Photo stolen from Sarah's blog. I apologize to the photographer for doing so.
Sarah has been a champion for skateboarding and skateboard parks for more than a decade. Aside from being involved in the opening and operation of the Clubhouse, a sorely needed indoor not to mention, vert ramp, in wake of the closing of the Richmond Skate Ranch, and later helped co-found the Vancouver Skateboard Coalition which had been not only instrumental in seeing five new skateparks built, but they also helped relax Vancouver’s draconian skateboard bylaws.
Basically, if you live in Vancouver and you skateboard [the latter I can’t help to presume if you’re spending the time to read my blog] voting for Sarah is kind of a no brainer. I know “no brainer” is kind of a hackneyed phrase but I couldn’t think of anything that didn’t come off as condescending to put in its place.
So, check out Sarah’s web page, her blog, and maybe this article from the Vancouver Courier [also owned by the same media outlet as the aforementioned papers] and go do your civic duty on Saturday. I even read somewhere that standing in line to vote is almost as good as a greasy breakfast to cure a hangover so why not do both and make a morning of it.
