At an early age Canadian teenagers must make a serious choice - puck bunnies or snow bunnies - what's your poison? Making your way up the Hockey ranks is the Canadian equivalent to getting enlisted into the military and only a select few break the mold and trade NHL superstardom for pro snowboarder dirtbagdom. The Olympics are over but the media is not letting that Post-Traumatic Olympic Syndrome kick in just yet. Last week Horseshoe hosted team riders Brad Gauley, Smolik, and myself to build and ride a park feature of our own construction. From the skate-orientated mind of Smolik came the idea to build some skatelike features: a polejam to tranny, a decent sized down rail that required some pop to get on unlike the usual ride-on or jump... Ontario may have been hit by winter a few weeks late this year , but if you are a borderline obessive, devout follower of Bill Murray (like I am) then you believe there is another 6 weeks to go. Wiarton Willie, Ontario's makeshift version of Punxsutawney Phil, saw his shadow on Tuesday marking another 6 weeks of winter.... (more)
