Simple Snowboarding @ Breck
Posted On Apr 22 2009, 10:57 AM by Rothphoto

Here is a little history lesson for you.

1859 - Gold is discovered along the Blue River and a base camp, later to be known as Breckenridge, is established.

1984 - Breckenridge became Colorado's first major resort to allow snowboarding.

1985 - Peak 10 opens and the resort hosts the worlds first Snowboarding World Cup.

All the rest is just filler...

One of the best things about snowboarding is all the opportunities to travel. I seem to end up spending 90% of my season on the road. Yet all the resorts and places to get to see I look forward to hitting Breck with the Simple Snowboarding crew the most. With one seasons pass you can hit Vail, Keystone, A-Basin, Beaver Creek, Heavenly and Breckenridge. What's not to love about that?? This is the fourth time I've been here (2 early and 2 end of season trips) and they have all been epic.

What is the first thing you see when you leave the airport at Denver? A big blue horse!

Although Keystone had enough snow to stay open for at least another month our first day of riding was their last for the season.

"Simple Snowboarding has been running for 2 seasons now, we are aiming to help young snowboarders improve both their snowboarding and develop as better people to improve both their own lives and others lives along the way." said Coach and Simple Snowboarding Owner Sam Marcotte. During the following six days we enjoyed 4 days of sun and 2 days of deep powder at Breckenridge. When I had a chance I would steal one of the kids, or coaches, away for a quick photo or two.

If you put 15 Mikey Ciccarellis head to heel from the Lip to the landing you still won't have enough Mikey Ciccarellis to cover the distance this little guy was going

Almost every day after riding hit up the new Woodward at Copper. After a manditory site walkthrough Foam-pits quickly became me new favorite thing in the world.
