Growing up in Markham, Ontario, Mikey made the big move out west to "live the dream" via his semi-professional snowboard career. Eventually the mind outlasted the body and his focus shifted to getting an education and a "real job" in the action sport industry. I've always found it easier to point out the negative in any situation. So no matter what comes my way in life, I always try and identify at least one pro (along with the obvious cons!) so I can figure out what I'm supposed to learn from being there. Look deep inside the skate scene and you'll find certain individuals that know every trick that's gone down, on every single skate-able spot, in most Canadian cities. This column highlights those individuals-they can tell you what went down in the videos and the magazines because they were there doing it or watching... (more)

It's not often that someone is given a gift that allows them to be talented in many different areas of their life. Come to think of it, up until interviewing Corey Sheppard a few weeks ago, I didn't personally know anybody that was actually capable of juggling multiple careers, while achieving success in all of them...
