Last weekend saw the second annual Ridin' 4 Riches contest go down at Ashbridges in Toronto. There's no doubt that it's one of the best ways for am skaters to get into the Billabong Damn Am contest in Vancouver, and Dillon Moore took full advantage, scoring himself a two week trip and entry.
Full results and a few more photos can be found here, but Brad Hainschwang, organizer and MC for the event, also a Lovely Gentleman, had these words for everyone involved:
"This year's Ridin' 4 Riches took place at the Ashbridges skate park in the lovely beaches during a heat wave that Toronto has not felt in years, or ever for that matter. Regardless of the opressive heat, there was no stopping the epicness that we call skateboarding.
It was nice to see the young bucks going buck, with kids like Kevin Tio and Ben Patterson killing the course. There's no shortage of Canadian talent bring the heat (No pun). However, someone had to win, and on that day it was Dillon Moore. Ther was no question that the trip to Van, along with entry into the Billabong Damn Am contest, was his to lose after a first run packed with stomped tricks.
The day was filled with many cold waters, shredding, and still only a few went home with the bling. Thanks to Nuage rings for coming through with the hottest ring I've ever seen, making the day even more special for the lucky (and talented) winners.
A big thanks to all the competitors that came out: even if you didn't win you're still gold in the eyes of the TLG. Never give up and keep pushing."
